Fantasy

I am really lucky that I get to work with beautiful, special products and even though I feel like I shouldn’t have favourites I certainly do.  I also have a few special pieces that I call my ‘fantasy’ pieces that I specify and live vicariously through my clients when it arrives.  This bath is one of those pieces, gloriously proportioned and ridiculously comfortable, you do need a ledge or table near by for storing all your bathing accoutrements though. Lovely yes?

Loulou’s

I’m curious as to what everyone feels makes a great commercial interior, what entices you to visit a place?  I like a bit of escapism, to see some new ideas and to feel a little as though I’ve been transported, taken out of my everyday and delivered somewhere more exciting.  Loulou’s was opened by heir to Annabel’s Mark Birley and named after Loulou de la Falaise and designed by Rifat Ozbek with a stonking £30 million budget, no expense was spared. The result is quite spectacular and richly layered, sumptuous and certainly transportive, with unique wall finishes, clashing patterns and not a surface is left untouched.  What do you think of Loulou’s? Love or hate?

Cabin Fever

I appreciate that it probably isn’t much warmer in Brooklyn than it is in London right now, however following on from my recent weather obsessed posts I am wishing I could teleport myself to Brooklyn to stay in this little cabin within a Brooklyn apartment.  Terri and Adam built a one room b&b in their flat which they rent on the marvellous Airbnb.  I’m loving this creative approach to offering someone their own space and some privacy in a loft style apartment.  Terri and Adam also constructed their own sleeping nook built like a treehouse platform at the other side of the flat.  More photos here.
