With all these grey skies I’ve been seeking out strong, vibrant hues. I successfully found these at the amazing shop Joss Graham. These are vintage wedding textiles, they are stitched in such a way that the light reflects off the threads varying on the angle that you view it, giving an incredible iridescent effect. They can be bought loose or mounted on to a frame for a high impact art piece. Joss Graham is a real gem of a shop, brimful of textiles and treasures that will instantly transport you to exotic climes.

I’ve developed a real penchant for the slightly more rustic kitchen. I think the white gloss units that everyone has have had their day and on the horizon are the cosy, warm kitchens with colours and warmth and personality. These Windsor chairs by Howe would fit in with that aesthetic perfectly, and as their website says; “everyone should have at least one in a heart rendering colour”. I’m thinking of getting one in a punchy, vibrant coral.

I’m probably biased I know but I have a particular fondness for English girl blogs. So many of these girls are cool in an effortlessly, carefree quintessentially English way. It’s an elusive quality that I struggle to define, a way of seeing the world and I suppose I relate to them as we understand the same references etc. A particular favourite is The Green Frame written by Zinnia Mulford. Zinnia’s a garden designer based in London who designs beautiful gardens and takes pretty pictures of gardens around town.

I love finding beautiful blogs that are filled with new and inspiring ideas. Willow Rose Boutique written by Willow Crossley is as lovely as it gets. Willow moved from London to Oxfordshire and had her artist friend Fifi McAlpine hand paint her bathroom walls, the results are just sensational. I love the loose, stylised pattern and the gorgeous colours, exactly like an English country garden in full bloom. Here are the in progress shots and the completed room, images reproduced with kind permission from Willow.

I love dogs, I’m one of those crazy ladies you see who greets every dog with what is probably a slightly excessive joy. It makes sense therefore that I’d really love the ultra chic Mungo & Maud ‘Dog and Cat Outfitters’ on Elizabeth Street. This is a beautifully curated shop for accessories for the very pampered pet. The shop itself is also very chic in shades of taupe and cream. They also do the best dog beds, perfect for design obsessive pet owners.
